The FSK instructional technology team includes training program managers, instructional designers, training materials developers, technical writers, editors, graphics designers, documentation production and desktop publishing specialists, technical trainers, and evaluation specialists. The team uses the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) methodology which produces deliverables from each of the following phases:

We work with our clients to identify and outline training requirements and conduct front-end needs analysis of your training challenges. A Needs Analysis Report provides assessment results and recommendations for training methodologies after determining terminal and enabling learning objectives. We produce these assessment results through the most appropriate combination of reviewing existing training programs, conducting gap analysis, analyzing software or system requirements, and conducting surveys, focus groups, and personnel interviews.

After helping to determine the appropriate training methodologies to achieve the established training objectives, the FSK team produces the curriculum design for client review. Depending on the extent of the training development project, we can conduct a preliminary design review (PDR) and a critical design review (CDR) with the customers at appropriate points on the project timeline. Client review cycles are built into the development process to insure the work team fulfills client training requirements.For implementation of the client’s training program, FSK can provide technical trainers and instructors for training delivery. We can also provide training delivery systems for the more non-traditional training methodologies.

Evaluation of training programs involves various measurement techniques to determine how effectively training objectives are met. The FSK team develops the most appropriate evaluation techniques for the client’s needs and requirements. Evaluation options include systematic testing of trainees to determine extent of job task performance or knowledge acquisition, observation of job performance, instructor critiques, and survey instruments to critique and validate training materials and delivery.

Technical Documentation is another area of expertise the FSK team offers. After appropriate needs analysis and requirements determination, our team focuses on developing effective and concise technical information to be conveyed in a format customized for the intended audience. Appropriate media selection and configuration management are integral parts of delivering the most effective technical documentation — whether for hardware, software, procedures, or on-line tutorials.
